Budget Transparency & Taxpayer Accountability
Lacey residents have seen nearly a 20% tax increase in two years — and that’s not sustainable for families and retirees alike. But flat budgeting for too long, paired with state aid cuts (via S2), has backed our district into a corner.
As a board member, I will:
- Push for responsible, incremental planning — not financial whiplash
- Demand clarity on spending priorities.
- Help fight for state-level aid fairness.
- Ensure taxpayers know where their money goes — and why.
We can be student-focused and fiscally responsible. We don’t have to choose one or the other.
